I couldn't agree any more about the importance of networking. In my business, I have rarely seen any newly hired people or even business deals through resumes, or solicited emails-etc. Almost every great thing that has come, came from a loosely connected individual someone personally knows. And as far as the tips go, a few little things can make a huge difference.

[...] A few months ago I reviewed Thom Singer’s Some Assemby Required book on networking. He told me he was working on another one and I was excited to get it. I confess that this is only the third networking book I’ve ever read, so I can’t do a comparison with stuff that’s out there. [...]

Jason,

Your comments on Thom's website (I also subscribed to his blog), are one of the first very concrete guidelines to the process of networking; as a newbie, it will help me a lot to continue learning what a successful networking process means.

Thank you very much.

Kind regards.
