Jason,

It's remarkable what happened and how quickly it did. Such a show of compassion and community. It's a perfect story for this time of year.

I am with Mark ... it's not about where you live -- it's about reaching out to someone who we have "met" and who needs support. And if donations make a difference to one life, then it has been worthwhile.

Mark, in the blogosphere, either there are no such thing as z-listers (as in, nobodies), or the z-listers are the ones that are powerful.

Good for you for sharing the message, and thanks for your support!

> God bless you Susan, and thank you to all of the superstars who
> have stepped up to the plate and used social media this way!

Speaking as a Z-lister who has somehow crept into the company of Blog giants, thanks for this comment.

Not sure whether the American Cancer Society will resonate with my readers (who, given the nature of my blog, are almost entirely UK-based), but if the day makes ONE person go along and get a checkup in time, it's enough.

This is David from over at the American Cancer Society. Thanks for posting about this and helping us fund life saving research into Breast Cancer. Susan's story is truly inspirational and we hope this fundraiser will help spread her story far and wide.

For those of you giving money please know that The American Society has invested more in breast cancer research grants over time than any other voluntary public health organization – $322.7 million since 1972! And thanks for giving! Maybe we can all form a virtual team at a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in 2008?
