JibberJobber.com is a freemium tool that YOU can use for your personal career management. Job search experts tell you to do a bunch of things, and anyone in a job search knows it’s really hard to do everything AND keep track of it all. JibberJobber doesn’t do it for you, but it might be the most important tool you use to help you in your complex job search.
JibberJobber is your tool that will help you:
- Manage and keep track of network relationships. It is your personal relationship manager for your career.
- Organize and keep tabs on target companies that you apply to, or want to apply to.
- Track ;jobs you apply to. When did you interview, did you send a thank you letter, what is the next step, etc.?
- Prepare for interviews. Create and store elevator pitches, responses to questions, your 30 second pitch, etc.
- Store important documents like resumes, cover letters, reference letters, etc. Track where you use these and who you send them to.
There is a lot more you can do in JibberJobber. One of the most important things we help you do is follow-up. We believe that follow-up is a critical part of networking and your job search. JibberJobber has various tools to help you remember to follow-up, which is one of the hardest things a job seeker gets to do.
Your JibberJobber account is a freemium account: you can have a free account forever, and optionally upgrade and downgrade when it makes sense. Everything in JibberJobber is in the very robust free version, except these four things. You can upgrade starting at $5/month (annual price) or you can earn free weeks of the Premium level by watching training videos that cost you nothing.
A challenge we face at JibberJobber is helping you take a high level of complexity and make it simple. This is very difficult, and sometimes when you look at JibberJobber it’s easy to be overwhelmed. The core features in JibberJobber are tracking Contacts, Companies and Jobs, and the interactions you have with them (aka Log Entries). Start here, and if you never use other JibberJobber features, that’s okay!
JibberJobber was designed by Jason Alba during a job search in January of 2006. After having a successful start in his career in IT and business strategy, Jason found himself an unwilling participant in the job market. In 2006, this was supposedly a "job seeker's market."
Jason quickly found that a "job seeker's market" does not mean the job search will be easy, or short. Frustrated by the lack of real tools for job seekers (there were none), he decided to move forward JibberJobber, the first real tool that allowed a job seeker to manage and organize a job search.
The idea of what JibberJobber needed to be evolved as Jason’s understanding of job search, career management, branding and networking evolved. This has shifted JibberJobber from a tool just to track job search stuff into a tool to be used to manage multiple job transitions during your entire career. JibberJobber became a tool for managing and nurturing relationships, and following-up.
